Middle School Math Competition

On May 2nd, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students competed in a math contest at Thayer Central. The students compete in three areas: an individual test, a grade level team test, and a quiz bowl competition. These 9 students did an excellent job representing Heartland today! Medals were given to the top team for each grade level in the team test and quiz bowl tournament as well as the top 5 for each grade in the individual test. A trophy was presented to the top three schools overall. Here are the results...
6th grade - 1st in Quiz Bowl, 1st on Team Test, 2nd on Individual Test (Nick T)
7th grade - 5th on Individual Test (Garett R), 4th on Individual Test (Jake R)
8th grade - 4th on Individual Test (Aaron G)
Overall - 2nd place as a school
