HEARTLAND FBLA MEMBERS TRAVEL TO BALTIMORE

Nine Heartland Future Business Leaders of America members traveled to Baltimore, Maryland, for the National Leadership Conference from June 27 to July 2.  Aaron Buller, Sadie Carr, Bailey Peters, Brittany Quiring, Isabelle Vanderneck, Colton Monnier, Timberly Carr, Odessa Ohrt and Jackson Stebbing along with adviser Kristy Most experienced the weeklong conference activities.  The group stayed at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.

 

Seniors Aaron Buller, Sadie Carr and Isabelle Vanderneck competed in Entrepreneurship.  This was Aaron’s third time attending a National Leadership Conference.  He competed in Introduction to Information Technology as a freshman and earned 7thplace in Entrepreneurship as a junior.  This was Sadie’s and Isabelle’s first time attending a National Leadership Conference.

 

Seniors Bailey Peters and Brittany Quiring competed in Publication Design. This was Bailey’s first time attending a National Leadership Conference.  Brittany has attended a National Leadership Conference for three years during her high school years.  She competed in Word Processing as a sophomore and Personal Finance as a junior.  

 

Junior Colton Monnier competed in Securities and Investments.  This was Colton’s first time attending a National Leadership Conference.

 

Sophomore Timberly Carr competed in Accounting I.  This was Timberly’s first time attending a National Leadership Conference.  Sophomore Odessa Ohrt competed in Introduction to Information Technology. Odessa has attended a National Leadership Conference for two years in a row.  Last year she competed in Introduction to Business.  Sophomore Jackson Stebbing competed in Introduction to Business Procedures.  This was Jackson’s second time attending a National Leadership Conference.  He competed in Introduction to Business as a freshman.

 

The group enjoyed the following activities during the week:  tour of Fort McHenry, Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels baseball game, Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament, National Aquarium, water taxi to Fells Point and wonderful meals at Hard Rock Café, Nalley Fresh, Phillips Seafood and Sofi’s Crepes.
