Launch the media gallery 1 player - media #8It was an incredible Smorgasbord weekend at Heartland honoring the legacy of band teacher, Royce Schweitzer.
The school was brimming with former students and families who had been impacted by the work of Schweitzer throughout the decades.
After the 1,500 attendees enjoyed food provided by the band members parents, a band concert was held in the north gym. The high school band played three selections followed by the junior high band.
Between the songs played by the jazz band, a special time of reflection was taken by Luke Haidle and Lynn Hall to share stories and well-deserved recognitions of Mr. Schweitzer. He will finish his extraordinary music career at the end of the school year.
We look forward to continuing the tradition of band excellence at Heartland as the band will be led by Huskie alumnus Mark Hiebner next school year!
