DARE Program for Heartland Fifth Graders
Fifth Grade students recently graduated from the D.A.R.E. program of York County. Deputy Josh Gillespie runs a well planned program to teach kids drug awareness and social strategies to help them later in life. They learn how drugs can negatively affect your body and how to use resistance strategies to stay away from drugs. Other topics covered during the 12 week program are stress, peer pressure, effective communication, and bullying.
