Grand Island Concert Association is sponsoring scholarships to seniors recognizing interest and participation in music and/or theater.  These scholarships are awarded to encourage the recipients’ continued development of their talent and interest.  Applications are online at www.gips.org/foundation/scholarships after Dec. 1.  The deadline is Feb. 15, 2018.

Nebraska Press Association Scholarship: Scholarships are $2000 each - preference will be given to students who will be pursuing newspaper journalism education at a Nebraska university or college. A PDF of this application is also available at www.nebpress.com. Deadline: Feb. 16.

SCC Scholarships - Enrolling at SCC. The scholarship application window is from December 1 to February 22. www.southeast.edu. Deadline: Feb. 22

Nebraska Sowers Club Scholarship - Graduating senior with a min 3.0 GPA, include essay, activities and awards, and letters of recommendation. http://thesowersclub.com/what/scholarship.html. Deadline: Feb. 26.

Nebraska Sowers Club: Mr. Bob Milton Scholarship - Graduating senior with a min 2.75 GPA declaring a culinary arts major. http://thesowersclub.com/what/scholarship.html. Deadline: Feb. 26.

American Legion Maynard Jensen Scholarship: Must be veteran connected. http://www.nebraskalegion.net/Programs/Scholarships.html. Deadline: March 1

CNSGA Golf Scholarship: Awarded completely on golf achievement and involvement. Deadline: March 1.

UNL Scholarships - Graduating senior applying to UNL must complete the application and personal statement to be eligible for scholarships. UNL will accept ACT scores through the February test! www.unl.edu. Deadline: March 1.

UNK Scholarships - Graduating senior applying to UNK must complete the application and personal statement to be eligible for scholarships. UNK will accept ACT scores through the February test! www.unk.edu. Deadline: March 1.

Engebretson Scholarship: Graduating senior with a minimum 28 ACT - minimum GPA of 3.75, leadership potential and financial need of an expected family contribution (EFC) not exceeding $10,000. http://engebretsonfoundation.org/ Deadline: March 1.

Central Valley Ag is offering scholarships for CVA members and employees entering an agricultural-related field of study. Deadline: March 1. www.cvacoop.com/careers/scholarship

American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships: There are numerous available scholarships from the American Legion Auxiliary with varying requirements at this link: https://nebraskalegionaux.net/scholarships/  Most deadlines are March 1.

Tip Top Tux Scholarship: Graduating senior enrolling in college. www.tttuxprom.com/scholarships  Deadline: March 1.

BPOE Does Scholarship: Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to York area seniors, must have 3 letters of recommendation. Deadline: March 2.

Oxbow Animal Health scholarship: Oxbow’s Nebraska High School Senior Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors with a strong interest in pursuing a career in the companion animal industry. http://www.oxbowanimalhealth.com/grants-scholarships/. Deadline for application: March 2.

DJ's Hero Awards: Seeks to honor students who are "unsung heroes", students who give 100 percent, even when no one is looking and rise above hardships and challenges. Students can be nominated for this $10,000 award by teachers, mentors, community members, etc.  www.salarmyomaha.org. Deadline: March 5.

Chapter A PEO Scholarship: This scholarship is for senior girls with a B average or better (3.0 or higher). Deadline: March 6.

Cabela’s Bass Pro Shops Women in Leadership Scholarships: available to female seniors graduating from Nebraska high schools. Applications are now being accepted for these $10,000 scholarships. http://www.thehugefoundation.org/scholarships/. The deadline to apply is March 7, 2018. 

York Elks Lodge Scholarship: Criteria for scholarship will be weighted equally between academics, activities and leadership, and financial need. No restrictions on type of school to attend. Deadline: March 9.

Scott Mecham Student of Integrity Awards: These $2,000 awards recognize high school seniors who personify the values of leadership and integrity that Mr. Mecham exemplified – humility, courage, compassion and respect. and emphasize the importance of ethical behavior, community service and academic accomplishments.  http://www.bureaunews.org/SOI/StudentofIntegrity_Guide_2018.pdf  Deadline: March 9. 

NE Czechs of York Scholarship: A $300.00 scholarship is available to all graduating high school seniors of Czech or Slovak ancestry currently residing in York, Seward, Polk, Hamilton, and Fillmore Counties who plan to pursue further education at a college of their choice. Selection will also be based upon high morals, character, academics (80% average or above), leadership and community involvement. Deadline: March 10.

Hamilton Community Foundation Scholarships: Numerous scholarships are available to Hamilton County residents through this one application. Application form and more information is available at www.hcfne.org. Deadline: March 10.

York General Hospital ScholarshipYork General Hospital (YGH) is committed to assisting individuals who are pursuing a degree in a healthcare program.  This opportunity is available to high school Seniors, as well as current college students.  Preference shall be given to those employed by York General, York Surgical Associates, York Medical Clinic, York Cosmetics or the immediate family members of these employees. Deadline: March 12.

Cornerstone Bank Scholarship: Cornerstone bank employees and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply. Deadline: March 15.

JoDelle Obermier Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship is available to a current graduating senior who attends a York County High School. Access the application and reference form here: http://www.yorkcommunityfoundation.org/node/25.  Deadline: March 15.

Mildred Sterner Baker Scholarship: One boy and one girl from York County will be awarded a $1,320 scholarship. Eligibility based on character, church and religious interest and ambition, and sincere desire for higher learning. Deadline: March 16.

Nebraska School Counselor Association Scholarships: NSCA will be awarding 3-$500 scholarships to students in Nebraska. Essay required. Deadline March 30.

York County Pork Producers Scholarship: Do not have to be a pork producer to apply - must reside or graduate from a York County high school. Deadline: March 31.

Pink Bandana Scholarship: The applicant must be a student who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, or a student who has a parent or legal guardian that has been diagnosed with breast cancer within the past 5 years. Deadline: April 1.

McKenna's RAE of Hope Foundation is once again offering $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors across Nebraska. This year the Foundation is offering two different scholarships. Both have deadlines of April 1, 2018.

Henderson State Bank Scholarship: Need to be in the upper 50% of your class and going into a field employable in a rural community. Deadline: April 9.

James M. Cox Foundation Scholarship: The Foundation awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors in the eastern third of Nebraska who will attend an institution of higher learning in the 2018-2019 academic year and who demonstrate acute need. FAFSA results required. Deadline: April 17.

Burke Scholarship Awards: The Upper Big Blue Natural Resources District is offering two Burke Scholarship Awards of $2,000 each to two students who plant to study a natural resources related field of study. Must attend a Nebraska college. Deadline: April 20.

CollegeBound Nebraska: Nebraska students who are eligible for a Pell Grant are guaranteed total grant assistance equal to, or greater than, the full cost of tuition for 15 credit hours or more per semester to UNL, UNO, or UNK provided they are accepted to the University, complete the FAFSA by April 1 of each year, complete the financial aid process by June 1. http://collegeboundnebraska.com/

B. Davis Scholarship - The creators of the “Student Award Search Aid” website are offering a scholarship for 2018. Go to http://www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarships.htm to apply. May 1, 2018.
Injury Lawyers Scholarship - Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, one time award of $1,500, all applications must be submitted no later than 05/31/18, scholarship specific to students who have been affected by a personal injury.  https://www.bestinjurylawyer.com/#scholarship-application Deadline May 31. 
American Legion James Hurlbert Scholarship: Must have played Legion baseball. http://www.nebraskalegion.net/Programs/Scholarships.html. Deadline: June 15.

 BigSun Scholarship - Must be a student-athlete planning to attend a post-secondary institution following graduation. Short essay required. http://www.bigsunathletics.com/ Deadline: June 19, 2018.
