The Nebraska FBLA Fall Leadership Conference was held September 25 in Kearney. The conference was a one-day workshop for FBLA officers and members. The state officers shared the 2018-19 state goals during the Opening General Session. The speaker was Bill Cordes, the YOGOWUPI guy (You Only Get Out What You Put In). A great high school experience is determined by what we give not by what we get, and in his engaging keynote students learned strategies to maximize their leadership experience in FBLA…contributing more than they consume. We took a ride on the time line of our lives to look at how our past conditioning affects our current realities and gained tools for rekindling our passion for discovery and making an impact on our organization, schools and communities. It was a fun ride filled with humor, reflection and learned to create positive change in the lives of others as well as ourselves.
Following the Opening General Session, the officers and members attended Business/Industry Sessions presented by UNK College of Business and Education, Hollman Media, KSO CPAs and Younes Hospitality Center. They also attended Program of Work Sessions titled Inspiring Members to Succeed at SLC, Create Community Service, Leading the Way, Foundation Marketing Committee, State & National Projects, The Stepping Stone to Your Future and March with the March of Dimes for Healthy Babies.
The following members attended the conference: Kate Bergen, Ric Bulin, Timberly Carr, Grace Janzen, Allison Kroeker, Colton Monnier, Odessa Ohrt, Wyatt Regier, Jackson Stebbing and Rhianna Wilhelm.
