FBLA Members win Business Awards
Seventeen Heartland FBLA members competed at the Peru State College Business Contest. Tests were taken in the following areas: Accounting, Business Communication, Business Ethics, Business Law, Business Math, Computer Concepts, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Business, Keyboarding, Marketing, Personal Finance, and Word Processing. The following students attended the competition: Odessa Ohrt, Rhianna Wilhelm, Timberly Carr, Ella Friesen, Ashley Brown, Savannah Huebert, Ava Tessman, Dawson Ohrt, Grace Janzen, Cynthia Cerveny, Abigael Stebbing, Riley Goertzen, Mason Regier, Trev Peters, Kale Wetjen, Garett Regier, and Owen Mierau. The following members won awards: Odessa Ohrt 1st place Business Law; Grace Janzen 3rd place Business Law; and Kale Wetjen 4th place Accounting.
The on-site State Leadership Conference was cancelled this year, but the prejudged events and online events were completed. Our results are as follows:
Grace Janzen, Odessa Ohrt and Rhianna Wilhelm 3rd place Marketing; Ava Tessman 5th place Client Service; Grace Janzen, Odessa Ohrt and Jackson Stebbing 8th place Entrepreneurship; and Odessa Ohrt Who’s Who in Nebraska FBLA.
The Marketing team of Grace Janzen, Odessa Ohrt and Rhianna Wilhelm has qualified for the National Leadership Conference. Due to COVID-19, this conference will be online this summer.
