FBLA Members attend Peru State College Business Contest
Twenty-seven Heartland FBLA members competed at the Peru State College Business Contest on February 15. This business competition gave the Heartland FBLA members the opportunity to take practice tests to prepare for the State Leadership Conference held during the month of April. Tests were taken in the following areas: Accounting, Business Communication, Business Ethics, Business Law, Business Math, Computer Concepts, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Introduction to Business, Keyboarding, Marketing, Personal Finance, and Word Processing. The following students attended the competition: Liliana Alvarez, Tucker Bergen, Lilly Carr, Eloise Casper, Riley Goertzen, Savannah Hurlbut, Felicity Johnson, Owen Mierau, William Nielsen, Trev Peters, Garett Regier, Kaylee Goertzen, Devin Homolka, Hayden Mierau, Hudson Regier, Reese Regier, Ava Stebbing, Hendric Switzer, Nick Thieszen, Brady Goertzen, Lydia Jahnke, Jamisen Klein, Isabel Johnson, Austin Schmidt, Sam Friesen, Laura Splinter, and Hallie Tessman.
The following five members won Top 5 awards: Felicity Johnson – 1st place Business Law; Austin Schmidt – 1st place Personal Finance; Lydia Jahnke – 2nd place Introduction to Business; Kaylee Goertzen – 3rd place Computer Concepts; Owen Mierau – 5th place Business Ethics.
