HEARTLAND FBLA'S JOB SHADOW DAY
The Heartland chapter of FBLA participated in a Job Shadow Day during January and February. Approximately 20 businesses in the Henderson and Bradshaw communities agreed to host a job shadow student. Ten FBLA students took advantage of the opportunity to shadow at a local business. This project assists our chapter in achieving one of the national FBLA goals of transitioning from school to work. The members participating in the Job Shadow Day were able to see how the skills learned in the classroom can be transferred to the work place.
One of the requirements for the Sweepstakes Award was to submit this project as a Partnership with Business Report. The committee of Lauren Braun, Jessica Quiring, Michelle Barr, and Tiffanie Squire organized the information from the project into a report. They reported on the development of the project, implementation, results, and the degree of involvement. Our Partnership with Business Report placed sixth at the State Leadership Conference in Omaha.
Our chapter would like to thank all the businesses for allowing FBLA members to shadow you during our Job Shadow Day. Your generosity, time, and kindness is greatly appreciated by our FBLA members. The knowledge and experience members have gained about how a business works will benefit them for years to come.
